Lucky Introduction.....

So why did I choose this book? That's a really good question, I was...less than enthused when i saw all the options for our book and even less enthused when i saw that no one wanted to read the book I wanted to. I basically made a compromise with my group, I would read what they wanted, because even though it wasn't my first choice, it didn't sound horrible either. I don't know anything about the author either, which is common for me, I don't think I need to know a lot about a person to read their writings, especially if it's a memoir, I mean...they're talking about themselves, aren't they?
Memoirs are not my favorite genre of books, just because I find a lot of them either are boring or whiny...'oh my life was so terrible....' that kind of stuff. It annoys me. Generally, if I'm reading at all, I'm reading historical fiction or a manga/graphic novel. I haven't read a book in a long time, yet alone a REALLY good one. I think the last great book I read was back in my freshman or sophomore year- it was the end of the Cirque Du Freak series....amazing! <3
